I picked up a '05 ZX10 front end, wheels and swing arm real cheap. Probably good with the front end but is the swing arm worth messing with? I realize I probably can't use the rear wheel, but if I track down something narrower will it still fit the swing arm or am I in trouble with axle sizes?

Is the kick starter just blocked off or was it deleted from the factory? I was thinking maybe the LTD's didn't come with one but I've seen loads of LTD pictures with kick starters. Just curious.

Frame is broken as you can see in the picture. So first will be a complete tear down with frame gussets. I like the flame paint job. Very subtle, they only show up on a bright day. Just looks burgandy in the garage. Unfortunately the guy I got it from let the master cylinder leak on the right side of the tank, otherwise I might keep the pain like it is, rock chips and all.

Ltds had a kickstarter, somebody has been inside the motor at some point and eliminated the kicker shaft. B)
Youll have to measure the width of the pivot tube on the zx arm compared to the stock one B)

Thats actually not a 76 900 ltd frame youve got there,Im gonna guess 77-80 1000 ltd frame with other parts thrown on it.
Is there a steering head lock on the steering head where the vin number is located?
If theres a lock by the vin number Im gonna guess 79-80 1000 ltd,If its built into lower triple tree Im gonna guess 77-78 ltd frame.
Whats vin number on frame? B)

Z1F-090121, same as on the title. Sticker says date of manufacture is 1975, title shows 1976. There's no lock that I can see. Was it a separate lock or multi-position key? The key only has on and off.

Are the carb's not stock? Bike runs great if you hold the left most plug wire back a bit so the spark has to jump. Otherwise it drops a cylinder or two intermitently. Figure it will need a bit of electronic updating.

1976 KZ900LTD had an exposed rear brake master cylinder, not hidden under the side cover like later models as on the bike pictured.

1976 KZ900 standard model had a drum rear brake.

Good Fortune! :)

Looking to turn my 1976 KZ900 LTD into a street fighter. Frame is broken on the left side right above the exhaust so it will be a complete tear down.

Rear fender looks like 1976 KZ900 LTD.
Front fender is 1977 or later KZ1000LTD.

Fork lowers don't appear to be 1976 KZ900LTD.

Points cover isn't from 1976 KZ900, and is from a later model.

Good Fortune! :)

Wheels are likely not the genuine Morris Mags from 1976 KZ900LTD, but the similar Kawasaki version mag wheels used on later models.

Good Fortune! :)

Good info Patton, Thanks. Fenders, wheels and rear master cylinder are all going bye bye anyways. Curious why the master cylinder wouldn't match the year.
