Put the bearings in your freezer and they will shrink a little.

This helps for pressing them into the frame.

Thanks, bluejay I put the races in the frame few weeks back wished I would have thought about
that might try that with the stem its a littl tight at top and where it seats havent put the bearings on the stem yet (keep thinking a miracle will happen and my front end will magically appear LOL)

too much to do and too little time to do it

I have almost decided to forego the blessing this year. it will depend on how things go
tomorrow need a valve cover gasket cam end plugs set of brake pads and a few hours

the goldwing has sat for almost a year could get it up to par in a day or so (battery cleaning
oil change etc...) its stored at a buddies house that isnt very convenient

Have enough stuff to finish for others I really need to get knocked out and wait for better
timing

just havent missed a blesssing in quite a while

Polished the ends & the bolts gotta let the paint
cure used VHT wrinkle paint

waiting to get a nice chromable cover to send to advance plating in
Nashville. Steve Tracy is an old KZ guy he owns the plating
company.

not gonna make the blessing this year but I figured I would rather
finish the conversion instead of spending the money to get it
thrown together in a weekend

the header will have clearance issues I have a raked frame I think I
will have to use but I have a really hard head and will have to prove it
to myself. ordering brake lines this week

I saw that "rotor upgrade" was mentioned...are you going to install newer rotors on your stock KZ hub?

I've been meaning to ask somebody about this....when the rear tire is converted to modern rubber (wide, radial tires), what do you use on the front? You can't mix bias and radial, right? I went with modern rubber on my front wheel too but that meant I needed a much wider front rim. I'd be fine with the stocker if I had a tire combo that would work.

i am running an ltd rotor the proof ill be in the pudding once I get her plumbed
but tires are shinko front and rear 100 up front with a tube 190 rear no tube

I am sure more modern rotors are available if you wanna spend enough

my budget doesnt allow for that making things work with the help of friends and
this site is the only way I could even have these ideas lol

I think the rule is that you are NOT supposed to mix bias and radial. That being said alot of guys on the older Concours do and report good handling. Have never tried it myself.

Looking good Ram. I am using Shinkos on my Concours and really like them so far. Hope the header clears for you!
