Aww guys I have struggled with that Idea since I started this Chroming proccess

It adds 3 to 4 layers of paint and fitting these crazy cool triples could be a problem but
momma always said no guts no glory I may have to at least try it

Have a nnew paint scheme brewing for next season (same green) Might be a good lead in with polished triples green chrome forks

Damn it now I'm getting excited

I know a shop that could turn down the forks everywhere but where the trees clamp, then you could mask that area off and when installing the trees you wouldn't scuff the chromed green area.

I was a guest when I found this thread from a google search but after reading 37 pages of this thread I had to make my first post here as it seems I've already met all of you. I would have never thought to paint a bike green but wow, thats pretty f'n sweet! I laughed looking at parts in ovens, dishwashers and just about anywhere else you can imagine. I don't have access to even 1/4th of what you guys do, maybe thats why my bike is always in working order, lol. I don't have the tools or parts to get myself into trouble, yet....

Just wanted to say glad to meet you all and this thread has been a journey to finally get to this page. Now I guess I'll have to post an intro and see who has a bike like mine '83 kz440b, 99% stock and already planning/brainstorming ideas on what I want to do with it in the off season.

I wish it was that easy. What you can't see in the pic is he had some kind of tape/sticker down the middle of the tank and it was all bubbling up so I puilled it off, along with some paint. So stupid me decided to paint it without doing any research and now I'm going to have to strip it back down and start over the right way. Unfortunatly I only have the bike so I have to paint the tank on the bike since I need it to get around. So without thinking I bought paint, Duplicolor metalflake that is close to the original shade, forgot primer and painted bare metal. Now it has been way too humid to do anything other than just ride it as it is. So for now I have to live with it until I can figure something out. I wish I had a spare tank I could paint on the days the humidity allows and still be able to ride.

The paint is easy a spare tank not so easy to find at a seasonable price. lol do it on a weekend when the weather changes make sure you got plenty of beer and smokes so you wont have to go anywhere.
