thats how folks felt when the cars starting coming without a front bumper hand crank starter....they could not sell em to the man of the house, the bread winner,he was sure it would leave him stranded....so they had to have both the electric start and crank starter in the trunk strapped to the side... for a while on new models ,till folks got to trust those new fangled gadgets....

i digress....

points are only good during a giant solar flare ...or in case of a tatical nuclear strike...aka .....mad max comith....

oh wait thats mel gibson

I can understand wanting to go back to points. As with anything computer or electronically controlled if it malfunctions anything could go wrong. If it was a points system you can track it down fairly quickly.

Took the carbs off and spraying them down with Gumout Carb Cleaner, this stuff is incredible. Just spraying the engine knock off more grease then a whole can off engine degreaser. bowls are grimy as hell thankfully the main jets are cleaned out. I thank when I ran some seafoam through it it knocked alot of it out. Lots of pictures coming so bear with me. Got the old exhaust off as well

nice work...you better not spray mommas gerainiums......there is a little bald patch in my blackberries from that gumout..lol....

same carbs i got...i thought some of the 49 state bikes did not have to have the accelerator pump bottom set ups....

did your pipes still mount to the passenger pegs rubber bushings areas(in front of the pegs ,empty circle in my picture)...those bushing are pretty much a dont throw away item....i'm saving mine ,the P.O already tossed em away on the non header side...and they are important if i need to mount somthing there without using hardware store extras to fill the hole...

I'm going to say that's a negative ghost rider (Top Gun quote :))I didn't even know it had them. I may go ahead and bolt them on just to get them on there not gonna do any riding till I get my wires and coils sorted out.

I've got the bike in a carport right now so birds won't be a problem(If they start snooping around I have a Nylon 66 22. that'll take care of them ;))My coils came in haven't cracked the box open yet but bought to take a gander at them.
