Bummer  I guess I´ll have to learn everything the hard way

Last nite we fabbed pivot axle sleeves. Came out really good. Only 0,1mm tolerance now to original axle and about 1mm tolerance between frame and pivot point. Just enough to get the swing in place.

Chain line was calculated exactly right, it´s pretty straight (+/-1-2mm) BUT chain only 1-2mm off frame

So what I´ll have to do now is to change back to JTF527.17 (5mm less offset), add a 2-3mm washer onder sprocket and turn rear sprocket up-side-down. This will move the chain line 2-3mm right giving a total of 3-5mm tolerance to frametubes. Chainline will be 1-2 mm more off but I guess I´ll have to live with that.

That looks really nice!

Its a pain to find the alignment, and get rid off the offset, without grinding the frame.

Yeap, OMR it´s really "interesting" marrying new stuff with old stuff Second time around for me:)

RoyNor: Powder coated the frame a few years back. Ain´t any option to grind that:P

What I´m gonna do is change sprockets the way is expained earlier (528.17->527.17, rear sprocket reversed). This means chain line is 2-5mm off, but i´ll get some clearance to frame. Also I´m gonna shift rear wheel 3mm right to get perfect chain line and some more frame clearance. This means rear wheel will be total 5-10mm off center to right. I don´t think this is noticeable regarding handling, or is it? Is there any other way?

Fingers crossed and thumbs up

JT sprockets JTF527.17 has total 19mm, net offset 10mm and JTF528.17 24mm and 15mm. I had two washers, one each side of sprocket so switching both under sprocket means about 2,5mm more offset. So you have a choise of 10, 12,5, 15, 17,5mm offset with off-the-shelf JT´s.

I am glad you are ahead of me, I am not grinding either. :P

So its easier for me to find out the sprocket / chain issue after you have struggled with it.

Let the pics flow! :woohoo:

Last nite I bolted swing and wheel tightly for final measurement. This is the best compromise that I´ve found:

Front sprocket JTF527.17
- 19mm off-set, net off-set 10mm
- 2,5mm extra washer under to get more off-set to left

Rear sprocket JTR502.45
- Reversed to gain 2mm off-set to right

Swing
- Took 3mm off from right side pivot point
- Took 2mm off from right side axle sleeve to make the topal assy fit between frame tubes and to gain 2mm off-set to right

Rear wheel
- Took 2,5mm off the right side axle sleeve and added one 2,5mm washer on left side to move wheel right thus gaining 2,5mm off-set to right

Result:
- Chainline 3-4mm off
- Wheel 10-12mm off to right
- Chain to frame 3-4mm

Add 2 things to this recepy:
- Shave 2 mm off the brake caliber. Rim´s been moved 3mm to right so....Yeap
- Shims to upper shock pivot point. Swing and mounting point are much wider so needed to fab lef 3mm and right 7mm shims.

z1109r fin,i am running my rear wheel offset to the rightside about 10mm and can absolutely not tell any difference in turn-in left or right.you can take your hands off the bars, sitting in the middle of the seat running 60mph and it tracks straight as a string.i don't think you will be able to notice anything by having the wheel off set.thats my.02
