just bought a harbor freight air stapler for $28 so I could recover my custom seat that I modified from a fzr, figured it would cost that much or more for a pro to cover my seat, so did some work today and got my seat finished, turned out looking real nice, I'm happy with the results
here is a pic before I cut the seat down to fit my tank

a couple of after pics

I couldn't help but notice that you could use a set of these. I beleive they will fit your bike. These are for the 750/650 for sure but I beleive they might fit the 550. These are the only pair available for these bike. the ones ape ahs do not fit 750/650 let me know if your interested would look good anodized red on your bike. Like candy.

I have it tore down again so I can weld out all the mounts.
still have not figured out where to get an offset sprocket, the people that I have contacted don't make one for the 550.
the 900-1000 sprocket will fit I think, but they don't use the little retainer clip. I might buy one anyways, but not sure if I can drill and tap it after it has been heat treated. only cost me $100 to find out, OUCH
