LTDs did not come from the factory with a center stand.
The frame does have the required mounts for one
I purchased a center stand and use it just for service
Dave
Am I correct in thinking it was deleted because it didn't clear the "Jardin" exhaust on the Ltd ????

I installed an aftermarket center stand on my 77' KZ 1000LTD. I had make shims to wrap around the mounting bolts because the pivot bore ID on the stand were too big. Now it doesn't rattle. A chain drive bike with no center stand is a pain in the ass.

Been to long ago to remember if Jardine's were the issue.

Yes, I think the Jardine pipes were the issue.  I still have my original pipes but they aren't on the bike.  I have a 4/1 and have a stop made to keep the center stand off the chain.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

I put a Delkevik 4 into 1 on my 77' LTD. If you order the system for an A model it will come with the center stand stop. I didn't realize that the B model system doesn't come with the stop because they didn't come with the center stand. I called Delkevik because I installed a center stand and they sent me the center stand stop for free.

Not sure, that was in 1977...but I do remember the dealership stating that the rubber bits were deteriorating in the oil. The cam chain would then acquire unexpected slack rather rapidly through time. I do have some Kawasaki dealer updates from that period and I'll see if I have the one specifically about that issue. I'll let you know either way.

If you are a member of Kawasaki-Z-Classik.com, the specific Service Bulletin (4/1000-7) discussed the issue. The upper cam chain idler dampers were deteriorating in oil. I do not have a copy of the Service Bulletin, but it is posted in its entirety on the above site.

Thank you Michael.  I looked up the bulletin.
Not a hard update, I'll probably replace the rubber blocks just to be safe. I was afraid you were referring to the idler sprockets down in between the cylinders.
