Re: KZ Engine & Frame numbers
11 Feb 2024 00:43You are thinking of "krazee1" (Mike) from NebraskaVW always start the next model year following summer shutdown in July, I seem to remember seeing on the forum that Kawasaki's switch over was even earlier in the year (poss June/July)
I remember it was someone that worked in the Nebraska plant. He said that they got the first two weeks of July off and then came back and started the next year's production run.
I could be wrong, sometimes I get CRS.

Yup, that was me, a long damn time ago! Back in the good old days, we had a two week Summer Shutdown that typically started the last week of June.

Hi Folks, I just found that the PDF that TexasKZ compiled back in 2021. The one about the KZ engine and frame numbers. Got moved around with some sort of software update or state of confusion on my part caused by a software update, for sure.
Any way the correct link is:

Thanks

Thanks, Bill! Downloaded it just now
A couple years ago I bought a KZ1000 frame that was advertised as an LTD (with cast wheels), but when I looked it up online it appeared to be a CSR (which should have had spoked wheels, I think). Wheel swaps are not impossible, of course, but it will be interesting to see what TexasKZ's PDF says it is.
