Hi Joe, you have the snow, we have the rain, and lots of flooding throughout NZ over the last few weeks. Where we live, a local icon, Mount Maunganui, had a slip into a camp ground killing 6 people, and just down the road from where we live, another slip into a house killing 2 . A very sad time especially for the families and friends of the lost ones. 
The weather has gone mad.

The weather is and always will be a surprise and unpredictable. We haven't had this much snow here in many years, but when I was young, it was perfectly normal for winters to be snowy here; everything does follow a cycle somehow.

Several people have also lost their lives in accidents on icy roads here...always bad!!! - Starting this weekend, temperatures are supposed to slowly rise above freezing. We had -13°C at night on Sunday...But the weather here in northern Germany has always been crazy

I think it's the same everywhere, when I was a kid there was clearly 4 seasons, now "who knows what tomorrow will be". Definitely tragic when people lose their lives as a result
