Hi all, so I am still looking for a gas tank for my 2002 KZ1000p and I have run across one with this part # KZ1000J3 KZ 1983 51001-1066-D2. It looks like he is claiming it fits `81-83 . The single petcock and fuel sender hole look right but with shipping, petcock, sender and cap assy this is getting pretty pricey so I need to make sure it is going to work. Anyone know for sure if it will or will not fit my `02? Dach.

From the diagrams at Partzilla for the 2002 KZ1000-P21, your Police fuel tank is secured at the rear with a bolt.

The fuel tank in the pic has a mounting tab that fits into a frame damper, so the method of attachment is different.
I have no idea if it could be finagled to work. Also, that tank's fuel gauge mount has 5 bolt holes & I think your 1000P has 6.
