I think I will need to get a couple flexible when dry sponges and spray adhesive some 600 and 400 grit paper to them o get some more contoured areas sanded properly. This sanding on a curve is tricky stuff.

If you only need to sand the existing paint, what grade of sandpaper should you start and finish off with?
1977 KZ650C1, Kerker Header, Dyna ignition and coils, GPZ 750 oil pan and cooler

ran, with that tank i would cover the entire tank and try to recreate the curves. what happens is when a dent is created it distorts the surrounding metal.( think ripples in water) sponge type sanding blocks are no good because you cant get even pressure.i use 3m square blocks and afs flex-blocks.the flex blocks are a little pricey as far as blocks go but if you plan on using them more then once its well worth the money.

FLEX_BLOCKS:
throw on some 120g and go to town.

ltgtr. the paper you use depends on a few things.
surface condition, how much work you want to do and type of paint your using for respray.

If all goes well, I should have the bodywork finished up in the next couple days. I have to put the paint on hold right now though because of the neighbors water heater rotted their floor away, along with the wall right next to it. $ooo I will have to tend to that instead, easy, empty water heater, cut pipes out of the way, reinstall new pipes in a different location (securely) and wait a day for their guy to rebuild the floor and walls.

Go back and slide the tank back over and hook it up EA$Y Money!
