I read in another post that the rear suspension off of a sportster will lower the rear end about 2.5 inches. Has anyone done this before, if so how does it ride/handle, have any trouble with it bottoming out? If thats not an option does anyone know of any other simple alternatives to lowering the rear end?

I have heard that the harley springs do the trick perfect. I have also heard that the budget way is to buy these shackle that put the bottum of your shocks back a few inches and that lowers your bike.I think i read that you can cut some shock spring away as well(wouldnt do it myself)Also heard you can just go with struts and make it a back breaker.
Watch it folks,i have sticky fingers when it comes to a nice looking set of handle bars:)

It depends on the length of the shocks you have on there now, versus the length of the replacement shocks. If you put shorter shocks on there, it'll lower the rear end.

I have sportster shocks on my bike now and they are perfect. 11.5 (2 inches shorter than stock) eye to eye and I've never had a problem bottoming out even with a passenger. I think the ones you want to use are from older sportsters like 70's or 80's not exactly sure, but the newer ones have the eye on top that is bigger than the length of the bolt/ threaded stud on the kz and the older have the same size as ours.
