engine number v chassis number was created by sKZballs
Hello, I'm not sure where this one should go but here it is. I have an 83 KZ550 ltd. shaft drive. The vin is JKAKZFM10DA001972 and the engine number is KZ550FE003793. I am under the impression this is the M-1 model but I believe the engine number tells me this is the F-1. What am I doing wrong and what is the verdict?

I'm not familiar with the 550 models, but if they're anything like the others, engines are shared between the different models with the same engine capacity.
Have you, or someone else here, have a list of the 550 engine placements?

The FE engines were used in both the M and F models.
