Hi all, question, i am rebuilding an old z1 topidler with a new liska billet gear. Now my question is if somebody know if the Liska top idler has the oil  holes in the assy to oil the billet gear like the original old top idler.

Built a few over the years with Liska gears with no problem as the oil from the rotating chain provides plenty of lubrication.

Done my own, no problems with oiling, little noisier than the rubber damped ones.

Next time I'll replace these on my liskas.

Just in case you have a 73-80 KZ 4 cyl top engine teardown to do, it might be a good idea to replace the needle bearings in the idler gears. They are a Koyo B-78. Real cheap to buy at Amazon. Just pop them out and back in with a small press. May save you from buying the sprockets.

Over the past 20 years, I have re-bushed dozens of these idler pulley gears for myself, friends and customers, and they work absolutely without problems.

I used a M7 bold and drilled a hole in it, on the other side i positioned the nut and bold, after that i drilled a hole on the underside trough the original axle into the bold. So now the new idler can be oiled like in the old sitiation. Maybe i give the nut a small weld in this position to secure that the hole in the bold is always in line with the original axle. Now fingers crossed that all will work and stay together.
