Z650 B Rear Cush rubbers
30 Aug 2025 01:41
My usual sources do not seem to have rear cush rubbers for my KZ650 B 1978 (wire wheels).
I have tried CMSNL, ebay, Z-power.
Part number: 42014026
Does anyone know of a source or workaround?

several on ebaayy. alternative part. possibly the 80-83 550 or 81-83 650-csr. you'd need to do a visual comparison. if yours is salvageable. windshield/polyurethane adhesive might be used to secure it. I forget who did that.

As H1 says, there are some on EBay, you just have to make sure that they have the right locating rubber lugs. The spoked wheel has 3 round lugs.

Go ol skool. Cut up an old inner tube and locate over the sprocket carrier prongs. Bit of grease to ease titting into the cush drive rubbers location and the additional tube thickness will take up any loose play. They'll be good for another 50k

Old rubber, ain't new rubber.
I've had some of those cush hubs that had shrunken to the point that there was a fair bit of lash in the hub. Sort of like the rubber bumpers in the clutch hub, and/or, in the primary chain drive sprocket hub.
My preference is to replace those old rubbers with new. That removes the lash. Old inner tube strip wrapped around shunken rubber bits? Maybe. Better than a bunch of lash.
