WOW  I just went through that turn with the bumps yesterday one handed to see how the new shocks handled it. No problem, no bounce or sway. The repro shocks I bought from Z1E had me bouncing and wobbling like a fish.

I dress out at 230, the shocks are set at #2, nice and stable. Not bad for $140 delivered.

With the added weight of the boxes, the tools and spare parts in the top box, not to mention the groceries in the side boxes, these "cheap shocks" are doing very well. That left money to spend on other things, they look good too.

The $100 reproduction shocks suck. I have a set I installed original Z1 covers on I use for bike shows only.

Got mine from Z1E with all the rest of the goodies I bought. I had forgotten how lousy they were. I like the reflector though. If were to be canyon carving, I need better shocks but these suit my needs.
Steve

I had these shocks but they were too rusty.

Are all the RFY shocks you see for sale basically the same, they will claim in one ad. that they fit a CB250 - CB750, so are all the spring rates etc. identical for any given length?

There are actually several variations. Shocks differ based on length and mounting type. Spring rates also differ. That said, there really are only about three different version, excluding some small factors. Ordering online without knowing the many idiosyncrasies can land yourself the wrong set of shocks though.
