Hello everyone. I have a 1982 kz750 spectre with air shocks all around. I have never tried to rebuild rear air shocks and mine need it one of them is leaking oil. So my question is where can I find seals for them and does anyone have a diagram or a vid of how to do this. Any help would be awesome. Thanks. And sorry I put this in the engine forum. My bad

kz.bike-night.com/manual.html should be the right Manuel (download full Manuel 44 mb)
or if you want an actual text version www.z1enterprises.com/ItemDetails.aspx?i...980-1985&item=LAM450

I have the same bike and my shocks went out this last fall. Fortunately for me my dad has an '01 voyagerthat he just put progressive coil overs on and I am raiding his old pair so I haven't dug into my shocks. If I find time tomorrow I will look in my Manuel and see if it says anything about it. As for where to get a rebuild kit i would start with your local dealer :)

One thing to be careful about with air shocks -- if on side-stand, loss of air can cause the shock(s) to collapse and allow the bike to fall over on its starboard side. :pinch:

Good Fortune! :)

Hello - did you ever find a place that had seals/rebuiild kit or information for your air shocks? I have a 1983 Kz-550 spectre - which has basically the same air shocks as your 750 - and the rear shocks have started leaking/not holding air pressure.  OEM shocks from ebay, Partzilla, Kawa parts nation and other places are impossible to find. Might have to turn to aftermarket shocks.

Those Showa air shocks from the 1980's bikes were used on a lot of makes/models. There are a lot more examples out there of others rebuilding them for Honda Gold Wings and Harley Road Glides.

On the Honda bikes they show a complete tear down and parts list.

I have a pair of Spectre 750 shocks that need a rebuild someday but have not looked into it too hard yet. I did capture some old documentation of a rebuild with pictures and the part numbers check out.

Honda are pretty good at keeping up on spare parts so most of that stuff is still available to order.

Yep, those on the 650 look just like mine.  I will check out the Honda GW parts list and see what the dimensions are. Thanks for the info!
