kz1000 rotors on 650c? 12 Apr 2006 21:39 #39129

i put a set of kz1000ltd drilled rotors on my 650 and realized that the 650 calipers don't fit on the new rotors? it looks like the spokes (black parts?) are longer. is there a way to solve this problem. can i use the 1000 calipers or are the forks different? plese help this bike will be ready soon and i don't want this to keep me off the road? thanks in advance for your help.

the front and rear rotors from the 1000LTD. the rear rotor is ok because i am using the 1000 caliper but the front calipers don't fit:( .

ive got everything closed up for the night but ill compare some forks and rotors tomorrow for ya,i wonder if its just differant caliper brackets?:whistle:

i thought that same thing:huh: . i just don't have the 1000 calipers with me at the moment(50 miles away). :angry:

do you have the bolt hole measurements on the brackets handy?ive got a set of 1000 brackets.;)

The drilled rotors from an 1980 KZ650F1 or Custom will work.

78-79 (at least) KZ650SR (D model) has drilled disk also.

I just did mine. I used 100 calipers as well. The 1000 rotors are also thicker than the 650 rotors, so I don't think the 650 calipers will work anyway. But they came out so strong that now my fork is bottoming out. I guess new fork springs are in my future.
