Well, an experienced wrencher would probably know this right away and I'm still looking for my 76KZ900LTD supplement service manual book. I went to mounting my rear tire on my rebuild project and noted that the directional arrow on the tire was facing the wrong way! Dunlop Qualifiers. I took this to a 30 year experienced motorcycle tire guy in Lenexa KS last year to have it mounted. There's no way he would have mounted this tire on my Morris wheel backwards. It's more probable that I somehow reversed the sprocket and disk sides somehow. I put this wheel back together about 6 months ago. I've attached pictures of the wheel. The question is.......Did I goof? Or did he goof? And will I have to fix it? :pinch:

Ask yourself. Does the paint on the rim suffer
more on the sprocket side or the disk side?

Wireman. Finder of all things missing! Funny you should mention those endcaps and bolts for the swingarm. Seems like I left them around here somewhere. Probably lost.....got junk laying all around here......Hmmm...probably have to go buy a set. I'll never find them here.....

Thanks for the input. I'm really as clueless as I come across. I'll find that manual around here somewhere. Meanwhile, I guess I'll disassemble this wheel.....

Yep, they were repainted. Something about the harsh reality of a camera flash and how it shows the spots that were missed. Now where did I leave that can of touch-up paint.....

You can guess that the wife is real pleased with the bike assembly station I created in the living room....

Progressing slowly but surely. 2 steps forward - 1 step back.

The Morris mags can go on either way, at least the ones I have seen. The cush hub is not part of the wheel like it is on a normal Kawasaki wheel.
On my 750 twin with Morris Mags I could have bolted the 19" front on the rear, and the 16" rear on the front, now that would have made it really goofy looking :D

So if you put the wheel back together after the tire was mounted, then you messed up :)

In the sunlight fresh after painting and curing in the late summer 90 degree heat for several hours the wheels looked really good. Sure hate it when the flash does me in. And I was so proud. Check it out at this link,

Yes, (Doah!)...I did assemble the wheel after the tire was mounted. Thanks for the help.

It WAS the Tire Guy! I can't believe it!? I had that thing put together correctly! After I took it apart I noted (and remembered)8 holes on one side and 6 holes on the other. There's only one way that wheel will go back together. (It must be an LTD thing or a 76 LTD thing in particular). That was the good news. I am not as hapless as I thought! The bad news? I still have to go get the tire removed and oriented correctly. Which really, is probably good news. Cause I caught the problem. And also it gave me a chance to paint that black sprocket hub area that my camera flash so painfully pointed out that I missed. :S

By the way, I found those endcaps and bolts....quadripled wrapped in plastic wrap buried beneath 2-layers of old parts....
