I don't even have to look at the page you linked, I have been to Lou's (Loudhvx on here) site so many times I just about have it memorized :D

If you have a mechanical timing advancer (and I think the 81 does) then it should work.

That's a nicely made rectifier, not the ignitor.

Here's what the ignitor looks like. (Don't look if you're sqeamish about ugly electrical :) )

Obviously, it can be made a lot neater-looking, but that ugly prototype has been working for over a year.

what gage wire do you use?
78 KZ1000 work in progress in Hacienda Heights California and a 82 KZ1100 Spectra And a 1992 ZX11.

I think I use 14 gauge to the coils and the ground for the HEI module. For the positive wire you can probably use 16 or 18. The pickup wires can use just about anything.
