Well, there you go. Answered your own question. I was interested to see if anyone had a slick solution- just this weekend I practically tore my fingers off with the same issue. Kept telling myself "don't pry with tools, don't pry" finally the stator popped out. Tight fit on those little buggers!

They are generally in there pretty tight. The best way to remove a sticky one is to turn it over and find a wooden work bench surface. Grasp the stator cover in your hand and bang it on the work bench. That will pop the stator out after the bolts have been removed.
