Is this battery TOO small?

Hey everyone. Working on a 78 kz200 project.

finding a battery is not as easy as I hoped. OEM is around $70 bucks (ouch) and aftermarket sizes are not fitting the bill.

I did find one that fits easily, but it is small, really small. 3 7/8 wide by 4 3/8 tall by 2 1/4 deep Napa part number 6N6-3B.
the OEM Battery is 5 1/2w x 5"t x 3 1/2d

What is your opinion on this battery? it was only $10 bucks!

This link has your battery for $25 And I got the part number from www.buykawasaki.com . are you familiar with it?

I don't know if the small battery you mention would work, the 6n6 is only 6 amps, your bike needs an 11 amp battery.

Won't last long even if it can kick the engine over.. over-charging could be an issue too. That's a great price that OKC found for you.
1979 KZ1000E1 SOLD!
1984 KZ550F2 SOLD!
2006 ZG1000A6F (Totaled)

I did see that one on ebay, was trying to do some local pickup, but to no avail. didn't know the one I got was 6V but was suspecting it (documentation was for 6 and 12 v) go figure.

will return this and pick up that one on ebay.

If you are not going to use the electric start, pretty much any battery will work as long as it's the right voltage. The smaller the battery, the shorter the life will probably end up, but the battery will work even if almost dead since the charging system will take over quickly. My friend used a dead scooter battery for almost two years, but kick start only, obviously.

The link I posted has $6 shipping, and you need to buy your own acid locally at the auto stores. What ebay battery are you speaking of?

WAIT! www.BikeBandit.com has this battery for $20.95 and $6 to ship. The brand is Yacht. Go there if you need to.
