Messed up wiring from previous owner
19 Sep 2006 17:40
Check this out guys:
When I got this bike a little over 2 years ago, the neutral and oil lights didn't work. I tried desperately tried to find out why this was. I noticed that the oil pressure switch was broken off so as you can see, I soldered it back on. However this didn’t work for the oil light.
So I took the dash assembly and headlight apart and started tracing the wires back to the battery. Then while I took out the battery to replace it, I noticed two cut wires. Then I noticed they were the same colors as the neutral light and the oil light and both plug into the same plug. I’m thinking someone cannibalized the plug. So I extended the wires and plugged them in, and tada! It works!
Anyone else go nuts trying to figure something out and then fix it so easily?

Yes...
I love it when a plan comes together. Let's here it for simple, unspendy fixes...hip hip hooray!
