Put your location in your signature... it would really help. I don't know if the 650 coils will work or not. Not sure what impedence coils the 1100 uses. Does your bike have a ballast resistor? If it does, then your coils are likely lower impedence than the 650 coils which are likely 3.8 ohms. If you get them, I suspect you could use them if you bypassed powering the 650 coils through the ballast resistor. The safest course would be to measure the primary resistance of your old coils (put multimeter on lugs where power & ignition connect with bike off and meter in lowest ohms scale). Then measure the 650 coils.

Doubt it. Not sure what year 650 it is but the 1100's coils are closer to fitting with 1000's coils for ease of mount and input/output matching.

See if he has any J,K,L,M,P or R model 1000's around, if not any other 1100 A,B,D or L model will work fine and are direct interchanges.

As for checking the load of the existing coils, I'm not sure that will help much if they are both burnt out or dead shorted.

Why the switch-out? Just checking to be sure it isn't the Kawasakium metal the wire connectors are made of causing a poor performance. (Kawasakium = any wire connector that will corrode in normal humidity)

The reason for the swap is that I am having a few issues with misses with the bike and I am unable to come up with the $200 I need for new Dyna Coils so I just wanted to try another set to see if they make a difference or if the problem is coming from somewhere else. Thanks for the tips/

I know it's too late but FYI, I had a set of coils laying around from a 84 Honda Nighthawk 700/750? and although mounted in different bracket, the coils looked, mount holes same location and tested(VOM) the same as the ones on my bike. I decided to keep them for spares.:)
