Hi all
I have a 1975 kz400 which has recently lost its spark, it spins over ok, I've fitted new plugs, coil, leads, points and condenser,
I have checked the main fuse behind the side panel and its fine,
my knowledge has been exhausted now, any advice on the likely cause of the problem would be appreciated.
Thanks

22 Mar 2026 11:13Welcome from the UK - now that you have replaced everything you might want to look at some diagnosis, do you have a multi-meter ? with the ignition on and the kill switch in the run position you should have within 0.5v of battery voltage at the "feed" side of the coils. If you then move the black lead from battery ground to the switched side of the coil (the one going to the points) you should see battery voltage when the points are closed and nothing when the are openHi all
