Tail Light Question

I have a 80 kz1000 g that I am lowering and putting a larger rear wheel on. I am using body work off of a 76 model. What kind of brake light would work good to mount under the tail piece and look good?

I think the 76 one will bolt right up to the fender of the 1980G model.  Otherwise, you'll need to go down the custom aftermarket rabbit trail.  Only glitch is that the 1976 tailpiece may not bolt directly to the rear frame of the 80 G model.  Haven't looked at one of them in awhile....

I’ve had two different lights on my ‘78 1000 (same tail shape as a ‘76 900A/B tail).
First was a Zx12R taillight.  It looked OK, had two bulbs so I could run a taillight integrator and the lens was clear underneath for a license plate light.

My latest light is from a HD Fatboy
of some sort.  It fits the tail section much better in my opinion.  It has a single bulb but I made my own LED taillight with running and brake light functions.

Both lights required custom brackets.

The Honda SC57 (fireblade) LED unit is an almost perfect fit under the tailpiece

the zephyr 750 tail light might work.  but are kind of rare/pricy.  also, check the later 2000s zr750 ZR7/ZR7S. but the zephyr is probably a cleaner look. I have no idea how easy either would mount.
