mystery wiring, KZ700
03 Sep 2025 08:43
So i've been poking around behind the headlight on the KZ. And I'm finding that the wiring diagram for a KZ700 is absolutely useless. No colors match. Often, I have a different number of wires in a connector, too.
My wiring diagram shows 5 wires from the ignition switch. I have 6. Most of the wiring on this thing looks stock. So I have no idea what to reference for what goes where.
I've had a little free time lately, so I've been going through and trying to clean/replace connectors to correct for voltage drop. But an accurate wiring diagram would make it sooooo much easier.
Speaking of wiring, anyone have any good 3 slot blade style fuse holders to share a link for? I'd like to update from the old glass tubes.

how?! how did you do that? that looks like a perfect match! At least for what is behind the headlight.
did i miss some required reading somewhere?
Thank you!
Now it makes sense. I can also add the 12v accessory port I've been wanting for USB charging.
Looking at the rest of the schematic, I seem to have a blend of the two? I only have 3 fuses. This one has 5 + 2.
I have a fuel level gauge, this has a low level indicator.
