Still a bit confused Wookie. The brown is not attached to the coils. The coils are wired normally so power there would be disconnected by the ignition or the kill switch. Attaching the brown wire to the pickup provides power for the pickup only. Yes, it bypasses the kill switch. How does this setup increase risk to the coils?
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

I'm Not Wookie, ha. But..can share what i know. I believe His and Warren's concerns were based on having the power constantly doing something, it's not with the ignition key in the OFF position. Brown IS the feeder to the "normally" used Double female Yellow/Red terminal as Steve mentioned, waay closer to the feed from the Dyna S. It's a long haul up to the headlight bucket to source. Not a big deal but why do you chose to negate the RH switch?

(the most common thing is to piggyback the coil and Dyna feed) As the coils are still fed by the kill switch as long as the kill switch is off then there is no risk to the coils. If in the "dwell" position the coils will have a ground but no positive so no current flowStill a bit confused Wookie. The brown is not attached to the coils. Thanks Wookie. That's what I thought.
Asphalt, the double brown I use is a spare connecter near the headlight. It doesn't power the coils, which get their power from the kill switch.
I've been on the road for a few days so I can't check my bike but I'll check when I return in a few days.
