Replacement or new starter

Hej
Im searching for a new starter or a replacement for the Mitsuba sm-224. The starter is the problem. Not the starter clutch. Its weak and slow + its making a wining sound.
The shipping from US will be expensive. I would prefer tho find a shop in Europe.

God suggestion. I'we done it 10times. No better funktion. Im out of ideas. Im not sure whats wrong with it. Nice carbon. New bearing. Supergrease.
No better if i connect big battery direct to the starter.

Connect a voltmeter black to battery negative terminal and red to the body of the starter, now operate the starter - any more than 0.3volts shows a bad ground (either between the starter body and the engine or the main ground connection on the engine.
now move red lead to battery positive and black lead to positive terminal on starter, operate starter, any more than 0.5volts shows a bad connection on the positive line

Thank you for taking the time to explain to a happy amateur. Im within. Sometimes a little over 0,3v. I will try to find a better ground. But wouldnt bad ground effect some other electric components?

Thank you for taking the time to explain to a happy amateur. Im within. Sometimes a little over 0,3v.I would suggest cleaning the contact point between the starter body and the engine (where the starter bolts up) and the main ground contact to the engine from the battery I will try to find a better ground.
But wouldnt bad ground effect some other electric components? We are looking at the ground for the starter and the engine, the starter draws up to 80 amps (4 times as much as everything else on the bike combined) so needs a clean contact

Keep in mind that the starter is looking for a certain amount of watts to function correctly. Not sure of your statrer specs, but would guess 600 watts or so. Watts = voltage x amps, so each time you use the starter and it is functioning correctly it is pulling 12 or more volts and 50 or so amps. Keep in mind the starter does not care how it gets the 600 watts it is seeking. If it can not get enough volts it will attempt to pull more amps, or just the opposite if not enough amps it will attempt to pull more volts. The starter is the largest draw on the electrical system by far. The battery needs to be fully charged and in good health for the starter to function correctly

Sorry for my bad english. Yes I understand that. It dosent make any difference if I put a battery from a semitruck to run the starter so its not lack of power. Its not a bad ground. I have tried with extra groundcables. Im out of ideas.

If the supply voltage and the ground are good then the starter is bad. You may be able to find a shop that will rewind your original
