Hi
IM trying to identify what is missing on the right side of this KZ650 I'm working on. There is a round rubber holder but nothing there right beside the fuse holder box. I've attached a picture.

Some markets had hazard (4 way) indicators fitted.
The flasher unit for the hazzard lights is located as per your picture. The flasher unit for normal directional indicators is located on the main electrical boardĀ under the side panel on the other side.Ā
If you have a hazards the switch will be on the lefthand handlebarĀ controls.Ā
Both flasher units are the same.Ā

You have a disk brake on the back and if you say its a 77 then its a C1 model.
Here are some pics of C1 electrical under both side covers :

On my Canadian B2 there were two flasher units, one for turn signals and one for hazard lights. Both were under the LH side cover.I thought that too but there is one on the left side.

Thanks,Ā
I do have some more questions. Where does these connect to. I have a 2 prong connector inside the headlight bucket. I also have a switch wiring coming from the clutch lever with 2 connectors. Where do these connect to?

The two black wires from the clutch lockout switch go to the main wiring loom, under the gas tank.
You should find two black connectors; one male and one female.
Not sure of the two headlight wires.
What colour are they?
There are a few extra connectors in the bucket; one green and one grey, brown, maybe a ground (black/yellow).

Hi
When you say main wiring harness, you mean the one that starts from the headlight bucket? Also the 2 connectors from the clutch lever are female and black. The 2 other prongs in the headlight area have 2 green and yellow color.

You have to rempve the gas tank.
You will have the main wiring loom running down the center somewhere.
One of the black connectors connects closer to the steering stem, and the other 4 inches towards the back, or so.
Look for two black connectors not connected to anything.
Going by memory.
Would have to check a wiring diagram for the wires in the bucket.

Ok, I did find 2 black wire connectors not connected. I think one of them is from the start button switch. The other was more to the back and not connected. One has a male connector and the other one is female. I will have to get some connectors as both of the connectors coming from the handlebar clutch switch are femaleĀ

As I stated in your other post on this topic, 77 B1 model did not have an emergency flasher, like the 77C1 model did. From the pics you have posted you machine appears to be a C model and not a B model. There should be either a B or a C within the frame number to indicate what the frame started it life as. (example KZ650Xnumber where X is a B or a C)
If you have not done so pull down the wiring diagram for which ever model you have from the following location. filebase/fours/650. It should allow you to see what color wires connect to what.
