Building a tach from parts today for the 1981 GPz550.

I need several new bulbs for both the speedo and the tach. Does anyone know where to source plug in LEDs for these small bulbs?

TIA

Try searching KZR for LEDs. SuperbrightLeds seem pretty common. Below is a page from their website and below the item are some other bulbs.  Yours should be the bayonet base type, but you'll need to figure out which ones are acceptable. I did not have any luck searching by model there.   I think some guys get less bright bulbs for the pilot box, but don't quote me on that.

Don't do it. I've done it and the first night ride I did the speedo and tacho lights were so bright that they impaired my road vision with the glare. Reverted them back to incandescent the very next day. It was like someone shining two torches in your face.

superbrightleds.com is good.
I have my old order somewhere.
The only led that is way too bright for me is the blue high beam led.
They're cheap enough to swap back out to incandescent if needed.

whoops duplicate post.. posting at work again...not smart

Might as well post a photo of my led dash lights instead.
The green neutral light and the blue high beam lights are overexsposed in the image. They are pretty bright.

As Warren states, this is not a good upgrade as it will make the backlight overpowering at night. I searched hard to find LED’s with a cool temp, low lumin soft yellow color that was very similar to the mini incandescents. I found them on Evilbay. Another note is finding bulbs with the correct
Physical size to fit under the gauge face. Not an easy upgrade but doable.
