After ds2-1 install seems all wires had a home except the blk/yel, if the IC has been removed should this wire then be connected to the frame or grounded?

Black/Yellow is a ground wire.  Where is it attached?

You should have only 3 wires from your DS2-1.  A black, a green and a red.  The first two go to your coils and the red connects to a power source.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

It'd originally went to the stock IC unit on the bat box, the three you mention are hooked up as they have been, the blk/yel was left hanging. I simply connected it to the frame via a starter solenoid bolt.

It didn't need to go anywhere ( could have been taped to the loom and left) however adding a ground point to the main ground line (which is what you have done) can't do any harm and probably has improved the grounding of the main black/yellow line

Remembered the following post back in April.  Possibly the same wire:

BTW, how is your generator rotor working?  I still have one boxed up for you...

Hey Daveo! It's working but missing a small chunk of magnet, currently sorting through wiring using the wookies methods and process of elimination, 90 ohms in one wire under tank   soldered new wire in, now .02 ohms   gonna keep checking.

Finances are a just a lil light atm,   ..it's very frustrating as it's the one thing always holding me down.

Hell, I really don't know how much longer I'll be able to tinker as my hands give me very much grief.

I used to have problems with my hands and then I started taking glucosamine daily. Considering the fact that I have broken all of my fingers on both hands several times each I can still work blind with small hardware in tight spaces. The glucosamine has given me back my dexterity, I've been taking it for at least 15 years now.

How long did it take to get dexterity back. I have zero cartilage in both my thumb joints. Painful is understated

It was at least a month before it started to make a difference.
