My highbeams indicator lamp is constantly on. The switch changes the beams like it should but the highbeam indicator lamp is on no matter which being selected.

On the surface, it appears your hi beam indicator is wired to a constant key-on 12v source right now.

One wire going to the high beam indicator may be black/yellow which is ground.
The other wire SHOULD be the same as your high beam +12v wire. They are spliced together.
Trace the wire. They should be the same wire.

Either that or you have a short somewhere.

This is a best guess as I can't find the schematic for your bike.

Thanks Martin..
Yeah, the red/black wire should be going to both your high beam and your high beam indicator. The only indicator lamp in that area that should have full time +12V is your neutral light. What turns on the neutral light is a switched ground wire.
Your high beam indicator has a full time ground wire and what turns it on and off is a switched +12V wire(red/black)

Found the problem. I had the highbeam and low beam bulb leads crossed inside the headlight housing. Recently, I fabricated an H4  headlight bulb into the stock sealed beam housing and when I went to connect leads, I had a high and low beam wires crossed. I do not understand why that would cause the highbeam lamp to stay on but the problem is now solved. Thanks.
