speedometer gear housing

Have a 1979 kz1000 LTD and taking apart front wheel . Speedometer gear housing looked good, but had very little grease.
How much grease should I put in there? It is off the axle.
2016 CTX700(Honda)
1990 cr500(restored 100%)
1990 cr250(restored 100%)
1979 KZ650 C3
1979 KZ1000 ST(shaft)
1979 KZ1000B LTD

I lubricated mine the same way you'd pack wheel bearings. I used Bel-Ray marine waterproof bearing grease.
