Hi everyone im new to this site, I couldn't find and maybe passed it up, but a topic with a stock wiring harness setup.I have a 1979 kz1000 mkII that im restoring. The previous owner did some things to the wiring system that are confusing me and to put it nicely very crudely done. Im just wanting to put everything back to stock.I dont believe I can salvage anything from the harness thats on there. Ive seen the z1 parts inc wiring harness for thekz1000s im wondering if any one has used their complete wiring setups with the new voltage regulators they offer. Or if anyone can point me in the right direction for just replacing the chassis harness completely. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum jsignaigo91. If you are located in Europe Z-Fever offers a main wiring harness for the MKII model for a reasonable price.
Some pics of your bike are welcome, we all here love new member bike pics.

I have successfully ordered from Z-Fever a few times and I live in Michigan. The items arrive in a respectable time and been overall happy with the purchase. I'm actually looking to purchase their main harness for my '76 Kz900 project.

Restoring a harness isn't difficult. Remove it from the bike and lay it out on a large table, then trace the various wire paths using a multimeter and your wiring diagram. If necessary unwrap the harness to follow wire paths. Elliot tape can be used to rewrap when you get everything fixed up. I've done this exact thing on several bikes and I'm no electrical genius.
