1982 KZ1000 LTD, Inside Alternator Cover
12 May 2020 14:56
Hi All,:
I removed my alternator cover, and found some hardened red material around the edge of the magnets and inside the housing (see picture). Not sure what it is, maybe some kind of insulator that flaked away? Not seeing a reference to it in the service manual, just want to know if it should be there or not. Pieces were laying in the bottom of the cover. Any ideas? Thanks!

It´s only the glue left over of the rotor magnets.
