Aftermarket LED headlight/blinker combo
29 Apr 2020 12:21
I'm having an issue with my 78 KZ650C.
I ordered this headlight: amazon link
I hooked the driving halo up to the brown/white wire in the light bucket,
RH blinker to the Grey wire
LH blinker to the Green wire.
I replaced the flasher to an LED flasher: Ebay link
Here's the issue...
The driving halo functions well, as does Hi and Low Beams.
With the halo on, I turn the blinker on, it comes on solid. (no flashing) the opposite white halo is also on.
If i unplug the halo, Both the blinker and the opposite white halo flash simultaneously.
For trouble shooting, I wired up a flexible LED taillight instead of the headlight, and the blinkers work fine.
However, If I hook up the light and manually apply and disconnect power to the blinker terminal on the headlight, it works properly.
Any Ideas?

Have to fight with the same Problem on a Honda VT600 with new Moto-Gadget LED turn lights, All 4 turn lights flashes like a Hazard light on L or R Switch position. A simple load/current Independent relay did not the Job and i was a Little brain fucked like what heck is going on here.
The new LED Technology need some new flasher relays. We had to buy the Kellermann Flasher Relay R2 that solve the Problem.

I just converted to all LED and used this flasher on both turn and hazards. Works great, need to watch polarity. If it doesn’t work just switch wire to opposite post.

I will order a new flasher.
Hopefully that takes care of it.
