1982 KZ650 Right Housing Control

I have a 1982 KZ 650 CSR. Seems like the right housing control is a hot commodity because the only ones I can find on ebay are over $100. Mine cracked and I am holding it together now with a zip tie. I would like to make it proper but can see spending $100 for a new one when all the other housing controls for every other year are around $40. Does anyone know where I can find one or I was thinking about an aftermarket one that will hold the same throttle tube. Also I have contemplated creating a CAD drawing for it and just 3D printing new plastics for it and reassembling it. Any other ideas?

Hi Mike. Do you have a picture of the cracked control housing? I can't find anything for part number 460911121. I may have something from my 750H.

From the diagrams at Partzilla for the 1982 KZ650-H2 CSR, the RH handlebar control is part #46091-1155.
The cross-reference there lists a number of 82-on models that use the same part and a few 1981 models.
note: Kawasaki kind of lumps the parts for some models together, so a part listed for an 81 & 82 model, may actually only be intended for one of them, and I think that's the case with the part number I listed.

Thanks Martin. I got the part number above from CMS. I imagine they are the basically the same part. I have a set of 46091-1047 that need some paint but are intact.

Weird. at Cmsnl.com the part number you listed is showing that it fits his motorcycle but the diagram drawing shows the earlier style metal housing control. But when I search the 650-H2, it's showing a different part number in the handlebar diagram w a drawing of the plastic handlebar control. This may be one of those cases in which the Kaw x-ref is wonky.

Yeah, it can get a bit messy at times! If it's a plastic housing then that's me out. My spares are the old metal housings.
