Speedometer cable for 79 kz650
11 Jan 2020 16:41
I'm unsure anyone is using KzR anymore but give it a shot anyway, I have an almost fully restored 79kz650 with 7,262 original miles and I was riding it before first snow and my speedometer cable snapped... Not a big problem right? Well I've ordered 3 different cables that said they would fit and none have. All 3 were different styles and lengths too. Anyone know of a cable that 100% fits my bike? That cable is the one and only thing it needs of course

Z1Enterprises.com should have a speedometer cable listed for your motorcycle, probably a Motion Pro.
Partzilla has part numbers, so you can get the number then check EB to see if any NOS cables are available.
ps: it helps to mention exactly what 650 model it is.

Determine the exact model of your bike; not all KZ650's are the same. Then look up the part number for the correct cable (see link below for Kawasaki site). Then order a genuine Kawasaki cable with that part number from eBay. Before installing the cable properly lube it. I've owned my 1977 KZ650-C1 since it was new (43 years) and that's how I would do it. Ed
