z650 single phase to three phase

Hi all, I have a z650 that is fitted with a gpz 750 motor & I had to change the rotor from three phase to a single phase to marry up with the reg/rec but now I want to put my rebuilt 650 motor back in the frame with a view to fuel inject the thing I would like to use the gpz generator as it puts out more juice:-) anyone know where I should splice in the brown wire from the 6 wire reg/rec please? I assume I cannot just connect to a brown wire from the brake switch? or am I over thinking it!!
regards theranger

Yes, brown wire that feeds the brake switch would work, but I like to find a more stable part of the brown wire circuit. The brown wire is powerd up to 12v anytime the ignition switch is turned on. That is what you are looking to splice into. Splice into the brown wire close to the main backbone harness if you can.

If you are on a budget, you can get a Ninja 250 or 500 6-wire reg rec for about $10 used. Look for early to mid 2000's.
