KZ1100 83' No start

Hi, I'm new to the forum.
I recently bought a 1983 KZ1100 and I got it to run fine. The other day I tried to start it and all that happened was the turn signal indicators on the dash came on (shouldn't happen) but the starter wouldn't work anymore. Not even a click from the starter relay. I checked the fuses and they seem to be fine, even swapped the 10 amp ones order just to make sure. Next step I tried to bypass the solenoid by jumping the battery straight to the starter motor and that works fine, but the bike doesn't start because it has no spark . I checked the service manual but couldn't find the troubleshooting guide for this particular problem.
Has this happened to anyone before?
