I wonder if the spark advance curve is the same for two and four cylinder engines?

I assume he's using the advancer from the twin... at least I think he is.

If flipping the kill switch to run kills the main fuse, how did you get the bike to run? The main fuse should have killed the ignition.

Maybe you just hardwired the ignition, bypassing the harness?

The kill switch does not go to too many things. It really just goes to the coil and the starter button. You may want to check inside the kill switch housing to see if the starter button or the kill switch are somehow grounding to the handlebar.

Or before that, you may want to make sure the wire (yellow/red) from the kill switch to the coil is shorted somewhere... most likely near the coil or maybe a slight chance it's shorting where the harness goes from steering area to the frame.

I'm adding a link to the wiring diagram just for reference.

It was a short! I accidentally tightened down the points cover just barely snagging the power wire (with the dyna... that wasnt the case before yesterday) Also, because of some unfortunate troubles, I found that the kill switch brown wire was shorting as well as almost broken. Can this explain the run for a while then crap out after 20 miles? By the way, dyna ignition blew my mind. The best take offs, no hesitation whatsoever under load with high beam, and turn signals going. I rode 50 miles today and after reading all the different posts, when the bike shut down today I already had all the ideas from this forum which sure enough brought me to the what I think the problem always was (kill switch) So thanks to everyone who has helped me so much!
