Trying to figure out what this is?
07 May 2019 10:13 - 07 May 2019 10:16
I was going through the bike looking for any bad or corroded connections, and I found this little sucker tucked up behind the fuse box.
What caught my eye was that it looked melted at the time. It was actually covered in black sticky insulation tape that was in very bad shape.
It has 3 wires coming out of it. (Green w/ white stripe. Black and Yellow)
It plugs into what looks like the harness into a plug with 3 wires. (Blue, Green w/ white stripe, and Black with a yellow stripe)
I have been having charging issues, and while I do not think this is a cause, I am curious as to what it is.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my post.

Brake light outage indicator by the looks of it. It makes your idiot stop light flash if the tail light blows.

That makes sense. I actually unhooked it and started the bike up but found everything was working as before.
The PO took all the meters and lights off and only replaced with speedo and tach. Which is probably why I didn't notice anything was off while it was out.

Looks like typical diode unit. Usually it connects igniter and clutch/neutral/side-stand switches and is used in safety circuits like: do not crank engine while gear is on and clutch not pulled in, kill engine when try to ride with side-stand still down (counting that side-stand switch is present).

Sorry gazzz it´s only a rear light failure indicator switch circuit. It works indipendent of the side stand safety circuits.
