Occasional no crank
28 Apr 2019 12:49 - 28 Apr 2019 12:49
Hey guys. I have had a problem with this bike not wanting to crank a lot of the time. I have to hold the starter button for a couple seconds before it starts to crank.
I have cleaned all of the connections and checked the wiring. I have also rebuilt the starter.
I took a look at the solenoid/starter motor checkout procedure today and I bridged the two terminals on the solenoid with pliers and the bike instantly started to crank. Is my solenoid bad? I can hear and feel it click instantly when I press the starter button, but no crank for a couple seconds.

For anyone who finds this thread in the future, it was indeed my starter solenoid.
I replaced it with a Cycles R Us brand solenoid and it works great. Starts like a beast.
