Battery discharging
23 Apr 2019 11:28
Ok so the other issue I just discovered is the battery has suddenly discharged overnight - here’s the background.
I bought the bike yesterday from the 2nd owner who has had no problems with the bike other than carb issues. Never any electrical problems. I pick up the bike it started fine on the way back and when I got the 50 miles home. But when I stopped and took the key out and went back to the bike the instrument lights would not come on - it was strange because when I took the bike off the side stand it seem to kick the instrument lights on but when I tried to start the lights blinked off again. Eventually playing around with the key locked the lights on the bike started and I was able to park it over night. Today I go to the bike and the battery is dead !!! I have no clue where to start with this electrical issue - any suggestions? I will charge the battery tomorrow but I think something is discharging it.

Load test the battery after charging before doing anything else.
Add the bike model info to your sig line so the forum knows what bike you're working with.
