Wiring my kz650h1

Do this look alright for how I have my ignition system hooked up? I am unsure where to connect the brown from the regulator, or what its function was, I know it went to the ignition switch, but that is long junk and gone...

I can be wrong (KZ650) but Brown is positiv 12 Volt if the ingnition key switch is in ON position.
Ground is black/yellow.

The brown wire to the voltage regulator acts as a voltage sensor wire for the voltage regulator.

Simplified wiring diagrams. KZR topic by loudhvx. bare bones for mattylight.
see pages 11-21 >> pg 14 has one for the 650-CSR.

note: some of the diagrams are no longer there >> pg 1-10. But from pg 11-on many are still available.

As Scirocco said, brown is almost always switched positive 12 volts on Kz wiring. That means it goes to many things, and is configured differently on different Kz's.

As Martin said, that brown wire, specifically in the original post, is the voltage sense line on the regulator. If the regulator has that wire, it must be connected to a hot wire whenever the bike is running. Without it , the electrical system can get fried by over-voltage.

The above diagram incomplete. Don't use it as is.
Find a better diagram. There might be similar ones in the link Martin posted.

(To Martin, I finished putting search tags at the bottom of each entry so a site search with "mattylight" and kz model designation should return results in that thread.)

Page 14 of the Mattylight thread has an 81 Kz650H1 bare bones diagram.

Thank you guys for the help! I ended up going with the mattylight diagram, now to actually fully complete it.
