I haven't, but if you were to try it would be a lot easier to swap in wheels from a newer bike with abs. There is a reluctor ring in the rotors to track wheel speed. Then you would have to mount the sensor and run new brake line. I believe the ABS on my new bike is all housed in one unit so as long as you found somewhere to put the assembly it should work.

I was all ready to buy a new 06 ZZR600 but decided against it since in the 3 or 4 panic stops I've had over the years I clamped onto the front lever so hard I would a ended up flipping it before I had time to react......... I tore the skin behind my knuckles one of those times clamping so hard ..... went around a sharp corner on my dirt bike expecting the usual jump and the guys had went in there with a bobcat and turned it into a 6 or 7 foot sheer drop off...... that one hurt as I wasn't ready.

I've panic stopped in sand in a Ford Excursion. The pedel vibrated so bad I had to let off and reapply the brakes. Retrofitting a modern system gives me the Willies. A lot of engineering and R/D goes into those systems. I'd rather rely on my skills than find out I made a miscalculation costing injury or my life.

In my own personal opinion, unless you ride wrecklessly, to me the ABS is not an 'upgrade" but a nuisance. More complications and things to breake and maintain. My old truck has it in the rear wheels,... I have disabled it. Only useful if driving on the snow.
