Amazing Gauge Restoration by Z-Resto

So I recently sent my Z1's gauges over to Z-Resto to be restored. I'm the second owner of the bike and while the gauges more or less worked, they were in pretty rough shape.

I mailed them to Bob in Georgia and this was his assessment:
gauge estimates as follows. You didn't inform us that someone had taken apart your Tach. Whoever it was butched up every single part of the Tach except the needle because the needle wasn't touched or removed. The connector ring was missing....the inner dome seal was in pieces...glass lens seal wrecked with glue...top bezel dented...faceplate was scratched beyond repair.....red stop lens fouled with glue....lower drive ruined by using wrong screws...lower base bent. We need to build you a new 75 z1b tach with an NOS faceplate, from scratch...

So yea, much larger job than anticipated.

Regardless, the end product was well worth the cost.

Gauge restorations typically run about $95 each.

Given the fact that one of my gauges had to be COMPLETELY rebuilt, I paid a little over $300 total

Bob has done 7 gauges for me....all perfect. I have two more sitting in my shop that I've been meaning to send him.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

$300 total and still a bargain. They look like new old stock gauges! Very nice! Ed

The Z-Resto website makes the following service statement:

We specialize in the Kawasaki Z1, Z2, KZ 650, KZ 750, KZ 900, Z1R, H1, and H2 family of motorcycles only.

_____________________________

That tells me Z-Resto will not work on the electronic meters, though some of the meter cases appear to be similarly constructed.

Something I recently learned...always store the gauge with the face upwards. Downwards will allow the oil inside to slowly leak out.
