KZ900 Tail Light On when key turned off

Anyone know why my tail light is on when my key is off on my KZ900? The red wire is hot when the key is off

Many Kz's have a feature where the tail light is used as a "parking light". That is, when the key is turned to the parking position, the tail light stays on. There is another off position where the tail light and the rest of the bike is off.

If you turn the ignition key ccw beyond the "off position" you switch into the parking light position,(ignition is off but rear light is on).

I've heard this feature was for delivery bikes, when people would park to make their deliveries in narrow streets they wanted their tail lights to remain on so they would be noticed and not hit by traffic, but the bike cannot be stolen.

I think of the parking light as a safety feature if you have to stop on the side of the road, especially at night.

Maybe these is european regulation?
At car is mandatory in europe to have parking light.
1981 KZ650-D4, with 1981 z750L engine (Wiensco 810 big bore).
