I soldered a male bullet connector on the red wire so I could plug in into the red/yellow connector. That way I can go back to stock coils just in case the Dyna coils fail. I also have a relay for the coils so the system isn't taxed as much. The Dyna S and 3 ohm coils use a lot of power.

Some motorcycle models have an available switched battery positive female bullet fitting which can be used for an accessory, as does my KZ900LTD which is used to power the Dyna-S.

Somehow the previous owner of my Z used the metal spacer with dyna coils with no issue... when I replaced the dyna coils with a new pair, I was unable to replicate his success and wound up using heatshrink wrap over the metal spacer.
Genius idea using nylon spacers!

The metal spacers help to dissipate heat. I wrapped mine with tape.

The positive screw can short on the spacer. I used button head screws but still there wasn't a lot of gap thus the tape.

The stem on these DYNA coils must have gotten hot enough to soften the epoxy holding them inside coil. I can slide the stem back and forth.
I used these 20 yrs. ago on a car tire bike.
And DYNA pick ups do blow out with high rev & heat. Got a pile of juck!
But for mounting, this gray stuff on frame & green coils is 3/8" plumbing sink supply hose. works perfect $1.99 for a 12" piece.
Or you can always make a longer bracket, so you use the farther hole away from screws.
